A study in contrasts

Last night was the last choir concert of the year for SHS. This is always a very emotional event and all of the kids I raved about yesterday were involved. Two of them had solos. The two weepiest parts of the evening are the senior slideshow during the singing of the song "Roots and Wings" during which the seniors deliver roses to their moms. SOB! Then they sing the song "Home" from the musical The Wiz. Here's last night's performance of "Home" with two of "my kids" singing solos. Sorry it's blurry. I was crying and my hand was shaking so the camera couldn't really focus.

After the concert we cried some more, hugged lots of people and took lots of pictures. It was an amazing time and I'm so glad that I got to be with these kiddoes the last couple of years.

When there were only about 20 people left in the sanctuary, I heard Becca's friend Patrick yell "MISS LISA!!" and turned around. He and our friend Noah were THROWING DANIEL BACK AND FORTH across the front of the sanctuary! Of course I did what all good moms do -- I turned around and filmed it!! :-)

Without further adieu, here's the world premiere of the 11-second short film, "Daniel Tossing." Enjoy!

Since Searcy High currently has no auditorium, the choir concerts have been held in the sanctuary of First Baptist in downtown Searcy.

I didn't realize you graduated from Searcy High. I thought you were still in Italy at that age! :-)
