Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change.

OK. I put all these pictures to illustrate one thing: I've had the same basic haircut FOREVER!! There may be minor changes in length or I might swoosh out the ends at times, but really? It's just the same thing over and over. I have this fear that when I die and they have the scrolling pictures of me at my funeral, people will sit in the church and say, "Oh my word! She's had the same haircut since she was 25!"

Because I have. I'd love a change, but I don't know what in the world to do. I'm too impatient to grow it out, too lazy and cheap to color it (we've had that discussion before, remember?) and when it is long, I tend to just pull it back anyway. Sigh.

Suggestions? Comments? Snide remarks?

Drazen was reading a book recently on "class." I remember one of the things it said was that a sign of higher class for women is having a simple hairstyle and not changing it frequently.

And if class doesn't matter, you can think of people like Francis of Assisi who changed the world and wore their hair the same in all the pictures we have of them....

Honestly, I never even thought about your hair staying the same. It looks good, suits you, and I imagine that's all anyone notices.

So does this mean I'm classy? If so, then I will be glad to stay with my same easy-to-do hair. I've never considered myself to be classy before. This brings a whole different frame to the picture.

Just FYI, this is how my conversation goes with anyone who cuts my hair:

Them: So, what are we doing today?

Me: Oh, I don't know. I don't really care. I just don't want it in my face.

Them: OK, so are we just trimming it up?

Me: I guess so. I really don't care. You should just know that I don't actually fix my hair. I wash it, put some stuff in it, dry it a bit. That's about all it's gonna get.

So given that this is my level of willingness to actually do anything to my hair, maybe I should keep it the way it is.
