Christmas Countdown

If you know me, you know I love music. All kinds. Well -- all kinds except for contemporary country. I even love what I call American music (think "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?') but I've never been able to connect with contemporary country music.

In honor of my deep yet diverse musical tastes, I am celebrating December by posting a different Christmas song with each post. The goal is a daily dose of Christmas cheer, but I may not be that consistent.

Who better to get things going than Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band? I love this version of Santa Claus is Coming to Town. I love that it's the 1970's Boss and it's in black and white. Are you ready?

And for my Facebook friends, here's the link. Enjoy!!

You can't do this. This is *MY* Christmas song.

Everyone who has seen Bruce Springsteen perform this song LIVE raise your hand (ME, Murfreesboro, TN, December 9, 1984).

See. I rest my case.

In my world, Christmas doesn't begin until I hear this song by Bruce.

So, thanks for welcoming me to Christmas, 2009.

Oh ME, I thought of you the whole time I was looking for this and posting. Not all of us lead such a charmed life that we're able to see the Boss in person how many times now?

However, my cousin did see the Born to Run tour in Memphis and Bruce and friends busted out Santa Claus for them too. Lucky Memphis cousins! They had all the great concert stories.

I had Air Supply in Benson auditorium. Sigh.

Glad I could welcome you to Christmas '09!

I remember when the Boss played a private concert in my grandmother's basement. After all she was a Christmas!
