Pictures As Promised

Even with the snow, I was at work yesterday so these aren't kids-playing-in-the-snow pictures. They are pictures of the campus of Harding University where I am blessed to work each day. Believe it or not, it's Spring Break so the campus was empty, which allowed me to wander around and take pictures wherever I wanted. Some of you may recognize a few of the Harding landmarks.

Administration Building

Administration Building and the recently renovated Lilly Pool.

The Bell Tower. Legend says that if you walk under it with a member of the opposite sex, that you will marry that person. Yeah, right.

Sundial.

Just to prove it was me!

The famous Harding swings. "Three swings and a ring."
Yeah, there's a lot of marriage myths here.

Where I go to work every day!

Isn't this cool? Daffodils covered by snow.

This little guy came and posed for me. I'm not making this up.

The view from upstairs looking south.

The view from upstairs looking north.

So there's my snow day! I wish I had pictures from this morning too. The snow was all gone, but there was a very Bronte-ish fog covering all the fields between our house and town. I love fog and storms and all sorts of weather that most people grumble about. There's beauty -- sometimes fierce beauty -- but beauty in all of it.

Great pictures! It's been a while since I've been on campus. Sure looks deserted. I'm sure you are enjoying the quiet though.

From a woman who didn't get "three swings and a ring" - it looks beautiful.

In my mind's eye I still see some Regina queens on thei r backs in the (empty) pond having a air raid......
