So why have I been so busy?

So you may ask yourself, "What exactly has Lisa been up to? Why has she not been blogging lately?"

Though I seriously doubt that any of you stay up at night wondering that, I did think I'd catch you up a little. First of all, there's work. I love my job and love my co-workers but it definitely takes a lot of time. Then there's that lovely little thing called grad school. I'm in class until 8:00 two nights a week and spend 4-5 hours a week -- at a minimum -- doing homework.

And then there's all the other stuff. Life stuff. I've been helping develop and plan a women's class at church. I helped with the WINGS conference. Oh -- and I was a bridesmaid this year too! My best friend from forever got married for the first time on February 9. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Her last meal as a single gal! Chinese food at the mall!

Sweet little flower girls. Aren't they lovely?

And this is me and Samantha's mom. Isn't she beautiful?

And here is the lovely bride! I like the way this picture turned out.

Softball season has also started. Here are a few pictures from tonight's game.

Caleb clowning for the camera.

Caleb took this one. I kind of like it.
Much more me than the dressed up picture from the wedding! :-)

Searcy High Lady Lions 2008! They won both of their games tonight, by the way.

Look at my baby girl playing third base!

And now she's batting!

And now she's running the bases! I really like the -- I don't know what to call it -- but the way the two players are in line so that you can see both the batter and the runner about to go. Would that be perspective? Maury? Do you know?

So there's life in a nutshell. Work, grad school, church, friends, and family. Trying to balance all five is exhausting at times. That's why we have a lot of nights where we do exactly what we're doing now: watching a movie (Nanny McPhee, one of my favorites) and just hanging out at home. It's not exciting but it's life!

I find life quite lovely when it's not exciting. It makes it easier to notice things like daffodils, bird songs, the light coming in the window...

Popcorn sounds like a good idea! I just was thinking I'd like snack and couldn't find anything (need to go to the store), but we do have popcorn. Thanks!
