Thursday, June 16th

Today will be a busy day. First, the boys have swimming lessons and then we will go to the library for the summer reading program. At some point, I'll need to make a big Wal-Mart trip in order to get things for tomorrow's birthday cookout.

Where would we be without Wal-Mart? The one-stop shopping Mecca of the South. It's become a substitute community center and trading post.

Tuesday was Daniel's birthday and he got his long-coveted Darth Vader voice changer as his birthday gift. It's quite a sight to behold: a little skinny boy with a big old Darth Vader head, often singing Andrew Lloyd Weber songs or "Happy Birthday to me." Keith said we should publish a picture online of Daniel in his underwear and the Darth Vader helmet. The caption? "Not so intimidating without the body suit, is he?"

Emily is ten. Emily is sure she knows more about the world than anyone else. How does one teach a child to calm down and not worry about everything? How does a mother teach a daughter to hold loosely to things and people instead of insisting that it all be right here all the time?

The move to Russellville is still very much in the planning stages. Please pray that we will find a suitable home and be able to make all our arrangements within the next month. Of course, we'll need the settlement money from the Air Force in order to do that, so please pray that the money will be in our checking account by Friday, June 24th. I don't know what we'll do if it's not, but I do know that God will take care of us and see that everything necessary will be done.

Ciao for now!
